About Lila

Welcome to my photography blog, and thank you for your interest in Lila Armock Photography!
 
My earliest memory of being obsessed with pictures is around age 4 or 5, when I would spend hours flipping through family photo albums.  Photographs have always been so captivating to me; I think it’s the idea that you can capture moments on film (or these days, digital memory cards) that are cherished for lifetimes. 
 
I am a custom, fine art photographer based in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  I strive to create beautiful, timeless images of children and families; images that are treasured and that bring smiles to the faces of everyone who sees them.  My style has been described by clients as “classic” and “clean”. 
 
At heart, I’m a Florida girl who married a Michigan man, so here we are!  We live in Rockford with our two little girls who bring us joy and sunshine every day (which is a good thing since it’s so COLD here a lot of the time).  I enjoy music, shopping, pumpkin spice lattes, running and reading – and of course, I love all things photography;)

And you live in Michigan??? Well, I’m FROM Michigan! I came here ten years ago; this is too ironic. i noticed your tag ‘grand rapids’ – I grew up in Detroit, married a guy from Ludington and we were living in Grand Haven (which i adored) before he got a business opportunity to move here. now of course i love living in Atlantic Beach but we go to Michigan every summer and I truly hated leaving Grand Haven. where do you live?! Mark Hoeksema (sp) of Grand Haven photographed my kids in b & w when it was still film and he did candids on the beach. they still hang on my walls today here in Atlantic Beach. I really need to update them and hope that I can do that myself. Well anyway. Great stuff.
